The Gang Goes Late Night

Finally, a talk show host finally did something sensible and got the entire cast of Always Sunny together for an interview. Kaitlin, Danny, Glenn, Rob, and Charlie all appeared on the Conan O’Brien show Monday night and I’m so happy that we finally got to see them all together, not as their television personalities. I included the four segments from their spot on the show (sorry about the last one being a link it wasn’t on YouTube for some reason).

The gang discusses fan tattoos, black-face, and the much talked about hook up between Charlie and Dee from last week’s episode. I hope they do more mainstream group appearances like this because it’s so great to see their dynamic off screen–you really see how true their friendships are in real life.

Danny Devito discussing all of the outrageous things he’s done throughout the series, which always seem to push the envelope of sanity.

The gang’s take on their previous controversial episodes, in light of the drama surrounding the recent film The Interview.

A look at some of the most extravagant fan tattoos. Yes they’re all real.

Kaitlin, Charlie, and Rob’s opinions regarding the hookup between Dee and Charlie

#ThrowinDownLifeLessons

I don’t really post personal stuff on here because it’s obviously not a blog about me. However, on Saturday morning I was in a pretty bad car accident and I just thought I’d write a little something about my experience. Of course, I try and use my sense of humor in all situations to make things brighter and less pessimistic, so I used some Always Sunny inspiration to help me talk about this.

 p

A group of my friends decided that we wanted to change things up and take a day trip to an indoor water park in Erie, PA. We started our trip in good spirits, excited to have a fun day doing something different. However, as most people are probably aware of, this winter sucks, and the whether has been worse than any winter I can remember here in Western New York. As a result, the snow was coming down on our drive and the roads were slick. My friend’s car ended up fish-tailing on the thruway, the car spun out and hit the snowy median, rolled twice, and landed on its hood.

q

The back windshield shattered and the car ended up being totaled. Luckily however, this ^^ is not me, and I was able to wiggle my scrawny ass out the back window safely. I literally have never moved faster in my entire life, and the whole situation was so surreal–my survival instincts just kicked in automatically. We had four people in the backseat of this little shoe-box car (one person on someone’s lap), and somehow we all came out unscathed. I got it the worst, because I was in the middle of the back, and all I came away with were some scrapes/cuts and a sore hip.

I am beyond thankful for my life and the lives of all my friends. This may sound like I’m over-exaggerating because none of us were hurt, but the only reason that’s the case is because of sheer luck. This could have paralyzed us, this could have caused serious injury, this could have been fatal. I just want to advise everyone to truly remember the responsibility you take each time you step into your car. It becomes second nature to drive, but it shouldn’t. Wear seat-belts (none of us in the backseat were), drive according to weather conditions, and be safe. Everything can be taken from you so quickly; do all you can to prevent that from happening.

To look on the bright side, I’m alive. I’m feeling better. I’m ready to appreciate life and go out into the world and “kick some ass.”

Charlie’s on Fallon

On Monday night, Charlie Day made a return to “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” to discuss the premiere of It’s Always Sunny. During the interview with Fallon, Charlie discusses the show’s success thus far and even gives a little insight into the season 10 premiere episode (airing tonight at 10 pm!). Charlie describes the plot of tonight’s episode, in which the gang tries to rival the beer-drinking reputation of baseball legend, Wade Boggs.

After discussing the show, Charlie and Jimmy play a new game called “5 Second Summaries” which involves describing the plot-line of a famous movie well enough for your partner to guess, all within in 5 seconds. Watch below to find out how they did, and be sure to tune into the FXX tonight at 10 pm for the season 10 premiere of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The Gang Writes a Self-help Book.

Many fans of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia have already purchased the gang’s newest piece of merchandise, but it turns out this one can actually be helpful! (maybe..)

The members of the cast recently released a “legitimate” self-help book into the world of literature, and being the fan that I am, I of course jumped right on the bandwagon and purchased a copy for myself.

20150111_135454[1]As you can see, the book is entitled The 7 Secrets of Awakening the Highly Effective Four-Hour Giant, Today (a title that’s explained in the introduction, but really makes a small deal of sense, as per usual). It’s basically broken down into 5 sections dealing with different aspects of life that one would wish to have success in–relationships, finances, etc. Each section then contains separate chapters written from the perspectives of each different gang member. The ones written by Charlie of course are a bit incomprehensible and often need translating from his pals, who are obviously reliable sources of credibility…

I’m only a few chapters in at this point but have already laughed out loud more than once, which is something a book has never done for me before. Everything is just written so spot-on based off the personas of each gang member, and you can hear their voices so clearly as you read–as if they’re reading aloud right next to you. There are even some “knowledgeable” and “well-written” quizzes within the book that you can take to help you along the path to success. Despite the disclaimer from the book’s publisher apologizing for the “offensive” piece “devoid of any artistic merit” and urging everyone to avoid following any presented advice within, I encourage all fans to purchase this. It’s only about 17 dollars on Amazon and really is a great insight into the show and the characters’ personalities. It offers a different viewpoint and really does have some funny advice that could be somewhat useful (don’t quote me on that). I’ll be doing an in depth review when I’m finished, but for now, I’ll keep drinking my coffee while trying to decipher Charlie’s dyslexic rants.

Set Your Calendars: The Gang Arrives Soon

Photo via itsalwayssunny.wikia.com

Just wanted to give a quick update and inform those who have yet to hear–the FX network finally released the set premiere date for season ten of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia! The first episode of the season will air on Wednesday January, 14th at 10:00 pm on the FXX.

To boost the excitement, enjoy a few teaser videos courtesy of the network’s YouTube channel, “FXX.”

Mark your calendars and start counting down the days!

The Gang is Back

Having just finished binge watching season nine of It’s Always Sunny on Netflix, I’ve once again had to start double, triple, even quadruple watching episodes from past seasons in order to fill my withdrawal.

But, the end is near!

In January of 2015, season ten of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is set to premier on the FXX network. A definitive date has not yet been determined, but you know I’ll be sure to keep you updated. The network did however release a teaser video for the new season, which can be viewed below.

The clip shows the gang suited up, NASA style, for what seems to be a rocket launch–but knowing their history, it can be expected that things aren’t what they seem. They walk triumphantly down a pathway, passing by some of the series’ best recurring characters like Rickety Cricket and Mac’s mom (cigarette in hand, of course). At the clip’s end, the gang is set for lift off only to find out the vessel they’re in is actually a cannon…typical.

They’re shot out into the atmosphere as the clip comes to an end.The gang blasts off into season ten and I cannot wait to see what’s to come.

Plus, there’s even MORE to look forward to. Some exciting news revealed by Entertainment Weekly tells us that our favorite band of buddies will be sticking around: “FX Productions just reached a three-year deal with Sunny creators Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, and Rob McElhenney…that includes orders for seasons 11 and 12 of the show.” I couldn’t be happier to see what’s in store for the gang at Paddy’s Pub in the years to come!
